Library is Consider as a trinity of ‘Books, Readers and Staff”. It is a Heart of a academic Institution. This College has been keenly interested and devoted to developing its Library by providing facilities and qualitative services to the users. The Library preserves and provides access to a rich, diverse and enduring source of knowledge to inform, inspire and engage you in your intellectual and creative endeavours.

Library is well-equipped with books and other resources; it is situated on 5th floor with Spacious reading room with 120 students seating arrangement. Ncrds Sterling Commerce College Library Automated by using MKCL’s Library Management Software ‘LIBRERIA’ from 2017.

Book Bank Facility

Mumbai University Book Bank Scheme for SC ST Student

The Mumbai University Book Bank Scheme is run for the SC/ST Category Students under Department of Student Development Mumbai University. 3 books regarding syllabus are issued to students for the whole Semester and taken back after the semester examination is over.


    Rules for Book Banks Facilities:

  • SC, ST Caste certificate is mandatory for students taking benefit of Books Bank Scheme for SC, ST Students.
  • To issue books under Book Bank Scheme students have to bring Caste Certificate and one Passport Size photo.
  • If the book is lost, the student has to replace a new copy of a Book lost with latest edition.
  • Books should be returned within two days after theory exam is over, otherwise a fine of Rs 10.00 per day per book will be charged.
  • All the books have to be returned by the person to whom the books have been issued in the beginning.
  • No change of book will be entertained in the middle of the semester.
  • Each set is issued for maximum of one semester.

Rules and Regulations

    Service Hours :

  • Library Opening Hours: 9:30 am to 5:30 pm on all working Days.
  • Issue / Return Timings (Circulation Desk): 10 am to 4:00 pm.

    Membership :

  • All students, faculty members and staff of the College are eligible for the membership of the library for using its facilities and services offered for the purpose of their academic, research and administrative work.
  • For Library Membership students have to bring admission receipt and one passport size photo.
  • Borrowing of reading materials facility is available to the faculty, students and staff of the College.

    Circulation Policy :

  • Documents marked as “Reference Copy” are to be consulted within the library premises.
  • Books issued should not be brought to the library except for return or renewal.
  • A document issued may be renewed provided there is no pending reservation against it.
  • Borrower should bring the material physically to the library for renewal.
  • No user is eligible to borrow documents from the library on someone else’s behalf.
  • No material from the library should be taken out without proper issue. Any type of violation may lead to a disciplinary action.
  • Handle the library material with utmost care.
  • Faculty and staff going on long leave, deputation, study leave, or extraordinary leave will have to return all borrowed materials before leaving the institute.
  • Members are held responsible for all items issued on their name, until they are returned to the library.
  • The Lost / mutilated / spoiled book should be brought to the notice of library staff immediately.
  • If an issued book is lost / mutilated / spoiled, it is to be either replaced with latest edition or compensated by double the original cost at the prevailing exchange rate. Refunding compensation money may not be possible if book lost is found later.
  • The borrowing facility can be restricted or suspended in case of misbehaviour or misuse of the library facilities / materials.

    Important Rules

  • Always carry Institute ID-Card while using the library and must be produced whenever asked for.
  • No material from the library should be taken out without proper issuing / recording.
  • Maintain atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence in the library.
  • Personal printed materials in the form of books are not allowed to bring inside the library.
  • Keep your personal belongings at the Property Counter /Baggage Counter.
  • Audible use of mobile phones, smoking, food and drinks are not allowed in the library.
