NCRD

National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) Pune, is a non-profit organization registered under the Society’s Registration Act 1860 & Bombay Public Trust Act 1950. The organization was established in the year 1991 in Pune, with a mission of Rural Development. The NCRD realized that time, if rural area is to develop, the rural people must get proper education through regular schools and educational institutes in the localities where they stay. And hence NCRD decided to establish educational institutes in rural areas.

Therefore, a school was started during the year 1994 in Ambegaon Taluka of Pune district to provide basic education to the rural children. Ambegaon Taluka during that period was undeveloped and was rural based. The Taluka, in spite of being close to the industrial area of Pimpri – Chinchwad, remained industrially backward due to restrictions on establishing industrial units in the proximity of the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT) set up in the area. Hence farming was the only source of livelihood for the people of this area. Even to make agriculture profitable and economically viable, quality education is essential. Hence NCRD gradually started more number of schools in the hilly areas of the Taluka to facilitate easy access to education for the rural children.

NCRD gradually expanded its horizon and entered in the field of higher education in satellite city of Navi Mumbai with undergraduate courses in commerce & Pharmacy and post graduate courses in management & computer. NCRD presently imparting education to more than 11000 students from K. G to P. G through it’s various institutions located in Pune district and in Nerul, Navi Mumbai

Sterling College

NCRD’s Sterling College of Arts, Commerce & science, was established during the year 2001 with the aim of providing of higher education to the youths of Navi Mumbai area which has now become educational hub. There was increasing demand for the institutes of higher education in the area of Navi Mumbai during first decade of 21st century due to fast growing population in this location. NCRD took initiative to enter in the sector of higher education and started undergraduate college in the faculty of commerce.

Sterling College of Arts, Commerce & science is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and accredited by the NAAC. It is situated in prime residential area of Nerul, Plot No. 93, Sector – 19, opposite to Seawoods station, Nerul, (E). The college is easily accessible by just 5 minutes walk from Seawoods Station, (Harbor Line) and also by walk by road from Uran phata on Mumbai-Pune National High way 4. It has its own building with all basic amenities and sufficient to run three undergraduate courses and one post graduate course in the faculty of commerce. The college has its’ won playground in the campus itself to conduct all types of outdoor games. The atmosphere of college area is very much pleasant and away from any type disturbances. The college provides best facilities to its learners for their overall development with the help of qualified teachers.

Important appeal to Learners & parents

There will be an Internal Test for all classes of B. Com program and a student has to pass in this test to become eligible to appear for semester end exam
Learners must give attendance for academic activities as per university guidelines
Do attend & participate in an orientation program which will be for the students with their parents
Do respond to the college sms
Get progress report of your ward from the college on regular basis
Cooperate with the college to make your ward better, better……
